01. OOC STUFF. Hello! My name is Fool! I am 28, and I will not write with people under the age of 21. Sorry! Nothing personal. If you follow me, I will check for your age on your blog before following back. I also like to know the person I’m writing with, so I’ll most likely dm you to talk about plots. I’m nice, I promise!
02. POTENTIAL ADULT CONTENT. As I am an adult, there is a possibility of NSFW content on my blog - it’s just part of life. Not a lot bothers me, but I will mark potentially triggering content as “tw” or “trigger warning” out of respect for my followers.
03. FOLLOWING BACK. I am mutuals only, so I won’t interact with you if you aren’t following me (mostly out of fear of bugging you). I’m super open to trying almost anything though, so shoot me a message or an ask or whatever if you’re interested in writing together! I haven’t had the occasion yet to turn someone down, however, I pretty much remain in the Star Trek universe - crossovers don’t do wonders for my motivation.
04. PERSONAL BLOGS and OCs. I am OC friendly, for sure! I don’t mind if personals follow me or interact over ask, but most times I will only follow RP blogs back.
05. DRAMA. I don’t do drama. I promise I’m a super nice person, but I hate confrontation, I hate drama, and I will remove myself immediately if I’m uncomfortable. Thanks!
06. REPLIES. I try to reply to threads within a few days. I’m still getting used to using Tumblr for roleplaying though, and my notifications haven’t worked since installing xkit, so forgive me if I miss it. I’m pretty vigilant about checking, but please tag me in responses! I write in third person, past tense.
07. TAGS. I try to tag each response with the character I’m playing, your username, and your character’s first name. If you are a multimuse, I will tag your username with your name in parenthesis like so: @stringshavebeencut (data). I will tag all asks as ‘ask meme’ or ‘ask data’ and all IC responses ‘data speaks’. All ooc content will be tagged ‘ooc’.
08. SHIPPING. I don’t autoship, but if you feel like our characters have chemistry, I’m up for a conversation. That being said, Data is an android. Without his emotion chip, he does not have sexual or romantic feelings. Or any feelings. Please keep this in mind. With his emotion chip, however...he’s very inexperienced and still trying to figure it out.

ENTERPRISE-D. The original mission under Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Data serves as second officer and Chief of Operations aboard the USS Enterprise-D. Upon being reactivated by Starfleet officers of the USS Tripoli, Data chose to enroll in Starfleet to repay the organization who returned him to life. Highest honours in the academy landed him a prestigious offer to serve aboard the flagship of the Federation from 2369-2371.
ENTERPRISE-E. After the destruction of the USS Enterprise-D, the ship was rebuilt as Sovereign-class starship with its original crew still serving. Although nearly destroyed by its encounter with the Borg in 2373, this ship is still active today.
RESSURECTION. After Data’s Death in the year 2379, the last remaining Soong-type android - B-4 - was sent to Earth to be studied at the Daystrom institute where a core group of cyberneticists, led by Commander Bruce Maddox, worked to make advancements to his neural net. When such advancements proved successful, B-4’s memory and functional programming were downloaded and stored externally so Data’s main programming could be run. After a brief rehabilitation period, Data stood in front of Starfleet at a hearing to have him reinstated as Lieutenant Commander and was requested by Captain Jean-Luc Picard to serve aboard the Enterprise-E once again, this time as first officer. He accepted this position in the year 2381.
PICARD. The year was 2399. Although Data was not equipped with emotions during his time in the simulation, he was well aware of the passing time. Existing alone for so long wore on him. When seconds seemed like an eternity, years seemed never-ending. Without a choice to shut himself down, he ran continually in isolation. He saw no other choice but to ask the captain to stop the simulation. His brother had other plans, evidently. When the offer was made - and he was told there was already a synthetic body ready for him to use - Data found no logical reason not to try. In the worst case, he could always choose to deactivate himself. It was like blinking. One moment he was in the simulation, surrounded by the ghosts of his former interests, and the next he was opening his eyes in a bright, unfamiliar place. To Altan’s credit, he looked the same as he always had. His brother looked so much like their father that it must have been easier to design a familiar body for him. Functioning in a physical environment would take some time.
MIRRORVERSE. In his quest to make the perfect soldier, Noonien Soong eventually gave up the dreams of his ancestors seeing that genetic manipulation, 'super soldier serums', and even cybernetic implants would not be enough. After several failures, he finally succeeded in creating Data. Programmed to serve the Terran Empire as an unstoppable force, Soong planned to make an army but was killed before he could. Data easily climbed the ranks but fell into a state of insanity when the Empire fell. With the help of his brother, he was reprogrammed to function freely.

HISTORY
Lorian and Dayton Soong were born to Noonien and Juliana Soong on February 2, 1971. Juliana had fallen in love with Noonien, despite his reputation and their significant age difference, because of his magic, which he was quick to use to woo her. When the boys were a young age, however, Juliana found she could stand no more of Noonien and left him and their sons to resume her life in the muggle world.
Soong was not the best father, and he was far more concerned with his reputation than raising a family. He was a death eater - or so he said - except none of the indoctrinated knew of him, and if they did, they wanted nothing to do with him. He fancied himself an inventor. A great wizard. In reality, he was a half-decent scam artist who was ready to jump on whichever train seemed to be the most powerful at the time.
Never too vocal about his support for the Dark Lord, when You-Know-Who fell, he kept to himself. Home. Tinkering. Drinking. Mostly ignoring his children. He didn't stray far from their small flat out of fear that someone - from either side - would find him an enemy. And Soong was, above all, a coward.
PERSONALITY
Dayton was always attached to his mother. She was much quieter and gentler than his father, who seemed to have very specific expectations from him. He was never good with people, nor did he care to be, as people were confusing and harsh. They told him he asked too many questions, that he was embarrassing, that parts of him were missing, that he was strange. Most of these things he heard from his brother who was, above all else, ashamed of him and told him on a regular basis.
